In the month leading up to the first day of classes in the 06-07 school year at Scattergood, I moved into a new apartment on campus, traveled to New York, got a dog, and got married. Without the incredibly warm community that is Scattergood, I may have gone insane after all these changes and upon the realization that I was spending my honeymoon sweeping floors, hanging out in the boy’s dorm, and teaching verb conjugation. I also soon realized that my role at Scattergood mainly consists of doing things that I really enjoy—working with young people, speaking Spanish, coaching basketball, and making music.
