I started to think about being a teacher in fifth grade, when my teacher Ms. Bracken was so fun and so smart and so friendly. I was a camp counselor for many years, and in college I taught after-school science classes in local elementary schools (to the confusion of my peers in my Computer Science classes at the time). I worked as a computer programmer for Microsoft as an intern, but decided to come work at Scattergood full time instead of pursuing my CS career.
Scattergood is a great place, where I can pursue a combination of my interests. I like teaching and I love math and science, which is convenient for me in my role as a math teacher, but I can go outside of that role and be a farmer or a carpenter or a deviser of puzzles to hide and be found around campus. It's great!
