Basketball

At Scattergood, basketball is a varsity sport as well as a PE class. Any student who decides to try out for the basketball team will be required to practice with the team five days a week as well as travel and be at games anywhere from 15-20 times in a season (approximately four months). Varsity team members will play teams from Kalona, Moline, Ottumwa, Bettendorf, and other cities from around central and eastern Iowa. Scattergood is a competitive team who plays at the Class 1-A level in the Iowa High School Athletic Association (IHSAA). Though we promote the ideals of teamwork and cooperation, the competition we face is rather good and players will need to be prepared to work on and improve their game every day.
