Kevin McCrea

Kevin grew up in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He student-taught in the Iowa City Community School District and received an Iowa teaching license in 2008. Kevin holds teaching endorsements are in World History, American History, Psychology, and American Government. He worked as a substitute-teacher in Cedar Rapids and College Community School Districts while attending graduate school. Kevin enjoys classrooms with lively discussions and integrating current events into the curriculum. He believes that a great social studies education requires students to become independent and inquisitive thinkers and that the community-centered environment at Scattergood prepares students to be participatory and engaged citizens. In his free- time Kevin enjoys cooking, gardening, hunting, berry picking, and reading.
