Map and Directions

Traveling from the East:

Those traveling from the Eastern Midwest, Mid-Atlantic, or New England areas should find the best route to get to Interstate 80. This freeway leads directly to Scattergood Friends School. Following this route, continue into Iowa until reaching exit 259 (West Liberty). Take a right (north) off this exit and continue for about 0.5 miles. At 290th Street – the first intersection – turn left into the small town of Springdale. Follow this road through Springdale for the next 4-5 miles until reaching a gravel road, Delta Avenue. This road comes up suddenly at the top of a rise so be careful. A Scattergood sign on the left (south) side of the road marks the spot, but it is nestled a ways down in the ditch. Turn left (south) on Delta and follow for about 0.5 miles to the entrance of Scattergood Friends School on the right (west). The main office is located in the large, brick building on the right.

Traveling from the West:

Those traveling from the Great Plains, Rocky Mountains, or West Coast, should find the best route to get to Interstate 80. This freeway leads directly to Scattergood Friends School. Once there, follow to the east side of Iowa (past Iowa City) to exit 254 (West Branch, Herbert Hoover Museum). Turn left (north), off the exit and follow into the town of West Branch. Go through a stop light and at the first stop sign, take a right onto Main Street (east). There is a Scattergood sign marking this turn on a nearby street lamp at the stop sign. Follow Main Street (which turns into 290th Street) for 2 miles out of the town of West Branch to Delta Avenue. A sign marks this turn on the right (south) side of the road. Please note: there is a sign on the right marking the Scattergood Farm before the sign designating the turn to the School. This is only a driveway to the Farm and will not lead you to the School. Turn right (south) on Delta Avenue and follow for about 0.5 miles to the entrance of Scattergood Friends School on the right (west). The main office is located in the large, brick building on the right.
