Friend in Residence

  • Friends In Residence can stay in the campus guest residence, Berquist House.

Scattergood welcomes visitors to our community through a well-established program called “Friend in Residence.”  The Friend in Residence Program provides an opportunity for Quaker visitors to spend anywhere from one day to six weeks, on campus as an active part of the Scattergood Community.  Friends In Residence can lead workshops, be classroom guests, help on the farm and generally offer their gifts to the school and in return, they may stay in the campus guest residence, Berquist House, take all meals in the dining hall and participate in community activities.

The Friends in Residence program provides a wonderful opportunity for the Scattergood community to learn from other Quakers as well as teach our visitors a bit more about Scattergood.  If you would like to find out more about the Friends In Residence Program or propose a visit, contact Margie Figgins in the Development Office at 319.643.7621 or development@scattergood.org.
