Sarah Giffen-Hunter
B.A. – Psychology- Earlham College
Current Student, Master's in Library & Information Science, University of Iowa
Sarah has worked in the Academic Office at Scattergood since the fall of 1999, when she moved here with husband Joey and son Lake. Sarah enjoys working for a Quaker organization, which supports many values that she holds dear. Her first experience with Quakers while at Earlham College and Quakerism has been a part of her life ever since. After graduating from Earlham, Sarah spent a year as a community volunteer in Wilmington, Ohio through a Quaker program of FUM (Friends United Meeting), and that is where she met her Quaker husband. Eventually, they married in the Quaker Meetinghouse on the Antioch College campus.
Sarah has served as both Registrar and Librarian for many years, as well as College Counselor for three years. One of the things she appreciates most about working at Scattergood is being able to do a variety of different kinds of work.
When not working, Sarah likes to take walks over to the Farm with her dog, Tucker as well as spending time on various fiber arts projects, such as quilting, making clothes, and knitting. When possible, Sarah loves sharing this passion with the students, such as in a February Intersession class.
