Rachel Butler

Rachel teaches ELL and ELL Humanities and also serves as the International Student Coordinator, assisting students with adjusting to life in the US. Rachel came to Scattergood in 1992 where she took on various roles including librarian, study hall monitor and girls dorm sponsor for three years before moving on to graduate school at Seattle University. In Seattle Rachel finished a Masters in Education for Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. She has been teaching ELL for 11 years now. She lives in Iowa City with her family. Rachel notes: "Driving up Delta Avenue and turning into the Scattergood drive way each day makes me happy!"
