Irving Treadway
Returning to Scattergood is like home for Irving. His first home was West Branch before moving to western Iowa. Irving attended Scattergood for high school and after graduating from Scattergood, spent several years living in New England doing a number of jobs, mostly cooking in restaurant kitchens, but also chopping firewood and being a handyman's assistant, to name a few.
Irving joined the Scattergood staff in 1993 after a long history with Quaker organizations and experience in some of the finest restaurants in Bar Harbor, Maine. Irving loves both parts of his job. When exhausted from cooking, he finds that that the students give him energy for his work in the dorm and vice-versa.
In the summertime, Irving can usually be found either at a Quaker conference, music festival, or running the Kitchen at Shiloh Quaker Camp in Virginia.
