Colleen applied to teach at Scattergood as soon as she read about its commitment to curious learners, teachers, eaters, and equity. This is her second year on the staff. Prior to coming to Scattergood, Colleen attended college and ran cross-country at Luther College, where she earned her B.A. in English, Spanish & Secondary Education. She volunteered in Colorado and Minnesota from 2003-2005 teaching English (ESL) and working with homeless families at a Catholic Worker house, and began teaching high school in 2006. Outside of class, Colleen loves running, reading, painting, printmaking, prairie-walking, gardening, and making up excuses to be outside.
