Ginny Winsor
Bachelor of Arts, Hastings College, Hastings NE
Ginny WinsorAt a time when I had planned on being officially retired, I suddenly find myself in the heart of the midlands in Eastern Iowa, surrounded by cornfields, cows, sheep and clouds, witnessing the rolling grounds of Scattergood filled with the sound of students hurrying to class, staff talking with their advisees, and birds gossiping about all the goings on.
I am honored to have been asked to fill in as Interim Head of School as Scattergood's School Committee searches for a candidate who can fill the ongoing position. After a brief sojourn in Florida and an even briefer one in California, I am happy to return to my Midwestern roots. Most of my adult life has been spent in Nebraska, primarily in Omaha, after graduating from Hastings College in Hastings NE. My work has been centered in not-for-profit management, mostly focused in the arts, theatre in particular. I spent my first three years after college graduation teaching in public schools before moving on to various situations including a zoo, a community theatre, the American Red Cross, an opera company, an assisted living facility, and another community theatre. Other short stops along the way have also led me to appreciate even more this opportunity to be at Scattergood Friends School hoping to find many ways to participate in and contribute to a community dedicated to making this the best possible educational experience for all concerned.
As this year speeds by, I hope you will not hesitate to contact me with questions, concerns, and requests for information. My door will be open and the candy bowls will be full with sugared and sugar-free treats for anyone needing a smile or a warm greeting.
