College Placement

PDF Attachment(s):

One of Scattergood's requirements for graduation is acceptance into an accredited, 4 year college or university.  The main reason for this is that as a college preparatory school, college or university acceptance shows that we have fulfilled our educational promise.  Last year, the average Scattergood graduate was accepted into 3 to 4 colleges or universities.  Many chose to continue their education, while some decided to take a year off for work or community service.

2011 Scattergood graduates were accepted to:

Earlham · Ohio State University · Warren Wilson College · Lewis & Clark College ·College of the Atlantic · Iowa State University · University of Iowa · Bradley University ·Richmond University in London · Green Mountain College · Grace College · La Roche College · Marlboro · New England College · Cornell College ·
University of Wisconsin · Beloit

Scattergood has a College Counselor to help guide students on their search for the right college, though prep-courses and one-on-one meetings.  Students spend large portions of Junior Seminar class:

In the beginning of their senior year, Scattergood’s College Counselor assists students with:
Arranging college interviews · editing college essays · taking students to college fairs ·walking students through the application process·assisting with financial aid applications · helping meet deadlines · working to help students manage the stress and pressures of applying to college
