College Placement
One of Scattergood's requirements for graduation is acceptance into an accredited, 4 year college or university. The main reason for this is that as a college preparatory school, college or university acceptance shows that we have fulfilled our educational promise. Last year, the average Scattergood graduate was accepted into 3 to 4 colleges or universities. Many chose to continue their education, while some decided to take a year off for work or community service.

Scattergood has a College Counselor to help guide students on their search for the right college, though prep-courses and one-on-one meetings. Students spend large portions of Junior Seminar class:
Creating a list of potential colleges · exploring majors and careers · learning to compose a college essay · creating portfolios and resumes ·preparing for the ACT/SAT tests
Arranging college interviews · editing college essays · taking students to college fairs ·walking students through the application process·assisting with financial aid applications · helping meet deadlines · working to help students manage the stress and pressures of applying to college
