Scattergood is accredited by the State of Iowa and the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). Scattergood is also a member of the National Association of Independent Schools, The Association of Boarding Schools and Midwest Boarding Schools, and the Friends Council on Education, which coordinates the activities of Quaker schools throughout the United States.
